     Joan E. Ausubel, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist in Oregon. She has over 32 years of experience in the field and has provided therapy to adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families.

Training and Special Skills:
     Doctoral degree in Clinical and School Psychology from Adelphi University (Garden City, NY), 1981. B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy from Yale University (New Haven, CT), 1973. Also trained in psychoanalytically-oriented psychotherapy, brief therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

Theoretical Orientation:
     Integrates psychoanalytic/self-psychology/family systems theories with existential and spiritual concerns. Facilitates becoming aware of and changing negative patterns that interfere with happiness, spontaneity, personal choice, and fulfilling relationships.

Her office is in downtown Portland. It is close to several parking lots and to Tri-Met buses and Max.
